Each year on Veterans Day, Arkansas TV proudly honors the men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform – and the families who support them. This day of reflection and gratitude reminds us of the courage, sacrifice and resilience shown by those who have served in times of war and peace. To honor our veterans, we’re sharing two programs that offer Arkansans the opportunity to connect, remember and give thanks to all who have served.
“Salute to Service 2026: A Veterans Day Celebration” – Friday, Nov. 6, at 8 p.m.
Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce hosts eight-time Grammy-winning music legend Jon Bapiste and The U.S. Army Band in this Veterans Day special. Join the celebration as the program takes on training at the United States Military Academy at West Point with former NFL offensive tackle Alejandro Villanueva, reminiscing on his time as a cadet. The program will also feature members of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment ‘The Old Guard’ as they share what it takes to be a member of their elite team, defending the District of Columbia, all while fulfilling the sacred duty of honoring all who have served our country.
“Rhona Classified” – Friday, Nov. 6, at 9 p.m.
Nearly 2,000 American soldiers board an overcrowded transport ship, unaware of its non-functioning lifeboats and inadequate lifebelts. When one of World War II’s first radio-guided missiles strikes, the Rohna sinks, claiming 1,015 lives – the single greatest loss of life at sea by enemy action in U.S. history. Government officials deflect responsibility by declaring the attack classified.
“The Marines” – Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m.
With significant access to Marine Corps training facilities around the country, “The Marines” examines the unique Warrior Culture of the smallest but fiercest branch of the U.S. armed services. The 90-minute documentary focuses on their training and considers what it takes to become a Marine and what it takes to be a Marine.
“Secrets of the Dead: Finding America’s Fallen” – Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 9 p.m.
A unique archaeological dig is happening in South Carolina, where veterans are investigating the site of the Battle of Camden and exploring how the Continental soldiers’ devastating loss there turned the tide of the American Revolution. Now, these former soldiers want to give Camden's fallen their due.
