The Arkansas Community Foundation Summit, held at Ron Robinson Theater, is a fireside chat with General Wesley K. Clark (Ret.) and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, moderated by Craig O’Neill. The discussion will explore the importance of respectful dialogue, principled leadership and the role each of us plays in strengthening our communities and civic life.
Medical Contributions to the Gothic Novel, “Dracula”
April 17, at 5 p.m.
The Medical Contributions to the Gothic Novel, “Dracula” lecture, held at the Jack Stephens Spine & Neurosciences Institute on the UAMS campus, features Dacre Stoker, great-grandnephew of Bram Stoker, where he will explore how late-Victorian medical knowledge, scientific ideas and the influence of physicians – particularly Sir William Thornley Stoker, Bram Stoker’s brother and a prominent surgeon – helped shape one of the most enduring works of Gothic literature.
