Original series showcases unexpected finds, collectibles, antiques in The Natural State

CONWAY, Ark. (Arkansas TV) — All-new episodes of “Arkansas Treasures” – an Emmy Award-winning Arkansas TV original series – will premiere Monday, March 2, at 7 p.m. on the statewide network and at arkansastv.gov/live. “Arkansas Treasures,” filmed during a two-day event in April, showcases the extraordinary and unexpected collectibles and antiques to be found throughout The Natural State.

This season’s finds include a Native American rug and blanket, a baseball signed by the cast of “A League of Their Own,” a wedding dress, a Little Rock guidebook from 1890, Hummel and Goebel figurines and more.

“Arkansas Treasures” features professional evaluators meeting with individuals discussing the heirlooms, collectibles and garage sale finds that they’re eager to learn more about. Viewers will get to hear the stories of how they acquired these items and how much each is potentially worth. Amory LeCuyer, owner and lead appraiser for Hampton House Auctions in Yorktown, Virginia, serves as lead appraiser for the production, while Craig O’Neill, beloved Arkansas personality, serves as host of “Arkansas Treasures.”

For Season 2, Arkansas TV welcomed 380 guests to the Conway studios during an April weekend filming event for an evaluation of more than 470 beloved items.

Three Arkansas appraisers participated in the show – Laura Stanley (jewelry), Kate Askew (books, paper and ephemera) and Roy Dudley (paintings and drawings), all from Little Rock – as well as archeologists Michael Evans and Jaren Pebworth from the Arkansas Archeological Survey.

Major funding for Season 2 of “Arkansas Treasures” was provided by The Moving Image Trust Fund. Additional funding was provided by Cherokee Nation Businesses and the ESSE Purse Museum.
