Won’t you help a neighbor? Join us for the annual Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive to support Arkansans in need! From Nov. 1 to Nov. 30, you’ll have the chance to donate new or gently used sweaters at libraries that are partnering with Arkansas TV.
Fred Rogers was famous for his closetful of sweaters, which were featured in every episode of his show. These memorable sweaters grew out of a tradition of hand-knit gifts that Rogers’ mother, Nancy, made every year. Nancy would knit 12 sweaters every year as gifts for friends and family. While not everyone has such fine-tuned knitting skills, everyone can participate in acts of kindness towards others.
Rogers taught cares. You, too, can be part of a caring community this fall by taking part in the sweater drive and helping to provide for neighbors in need.
Although the show may have ended, its message still rings true. Kindness remains a timeless necessity; it's always good to be helpful in your community. Help keep your neighbors and others across the state warm this fall and winter by sharing what you’re not wearing.
Fred Rogers began the Mister Rogers' Neighborhood Sweater Drive in 1997 as a way to encourage the neighborly spirit, and we're proud to continue his legacy of being a caring neighbor. Every sweater collected in the 2026 Mister Rogers' Neighborhood Sweater Drive will be donated directly to individuals in need through local Arkansas charities.
