As America approaches its 250th anniversary, readers have a unique opportunity to revisit the people, events and ideas that shaped the nation's founding. To accompany Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein and David Schmidt’s documentary series “The American Revolution,” PBS Books has curated a reading list that explores the Revolutionary era through nonfiction, historical fiction and children's literature.
Hey families! Arkansas TV will continue its Read to Succeed initiative this June with several events around the state. Read to Succeed is an initiative to provide literacy resources and encourage family engagement through educational activities. June’s first event will be held Tuesday, June 2, in Jonesboro.

Events are scheduled for the following cities and dates in June:
Arkansas TV and the Arkansas Center for the Book, a program of the Arkansas State Library, are inviting the public to free, hands-on Transcribe-a-Thons across the state throughout June, starting at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, at the Hempstead County Library in Hope. Guests are encouraged to register at arkansastv.gov/events.

Hey families! Arkansas TV will host free, fun reading events in May and continuing through August as part of Read to Succeed, an initiative to provide literacy resources and encourage family engagement through educational activities. The first May event will be held Saturday, May 2, in Mountainburg.

Hello! My name is Bella, and I want to show you how to host your own Transcribe-a-Thon in the comfort of your very own home! Larger Transcribe-a-Thons are happening statewide, but for those of us who can’t make them or just want some extra transcribing time, an at-home event is the perfect way to get your transcription fix!
Arkansas TV has several exciting live events coming direct to you this April! From a virtuoso ensemble to a fireside chat to a medical lecture connected to “Dracula.” Through our community events initiative, Arkansas Live viewers get a front-row seat to some of the most educational and entertaining events across the state.

Arkansas TV is thrilled to air the “Harvest for Hope Concert” on Thursday, March 19, at 7 p.m. on the statewide network and online at arkansastv.gov/live.
Filmed Dec. 6 in Keo, Arkansas, as part of the annual Arkansas Pecan Festival, the concert was created to bring communities together in support of Arkansas agriculture while highlighting the importance of mental health resources for farmers and ranchers.
