Arkansas TV will host free, fun reading events in May and continuing through August as part of Read to Succeed, an initiative to provide literacy resources and encourage family engagement through educational activities. The first May event will be held Saturday, May 2, in Mountainburg.

Hello! My name is Bella, and I want to show you how to host your own Transcribe-a-Thon in the comfort of your very own home! Larger Transcribe-a-Thons are happening statewide, but for those of us who can’t make them or just want some extra transcribing time, an at-home event is the perfect way to get your transcription fix!

Arkansas TV is thrilled to air the “Harvest for Hope Concert” on Thursday, March 19, at 7 p.m. on the statewide network and online at arkansastv.gov/live.
Filmed Dec. 6 in Keo, Arkansas, as part of the annual Arkansas Pecan Festival, the concert was created to bring communities together in support of Arkansas agriculture while highlighting the importance of mental health resources for farmers and ranchers.

Join us for a Thomas Paine Symposium Friday, March 13, at 9 a.m., and a hands-on Transcribe-a-Thon at the Holland-Waller Center on the Harding University campus in Searcy, Saturday, March 14, at 10:30 a.m., featuring Arkansas TV, the Arkansas Center for the Book at the Arkansas State Library and the Library of Congress. Funding for this program was provided in part by a community engagement grant from THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION project and The Stella Boyle Smith Trust. Celebrate history by helping transcribe primary-source documents from the Revolutionary era.
