This April, step outside and experience the natural wonders of the state as Arkansas TV revisits two unforgettable original productions in our “From the Archives” series, beginning Thursday, April 23, at 7 p.m.
Since 1985, the Arkansas Governor’s “Quiz Bowl” has been a long-standing Arkansas TV tradition, allowing high school players across the state to showcase their knowledge and compete for a chance to represent The Natural State in national tournaments.
The “Arkansas Quiz Bowl 2026” will air on Arkansas TV in two parts on Saturday, April 26, beginning at 9 a.m. and livestreaming at arkansastv.gov/live. A total of 14 teams from seven conferences will compete in the state finals for scholarship money.
“Dirt,” an Arkansas TV Emmy Award-winning original production about the importance of soil conservation, will return to the small screen Thursday, April 15, at 7 p.m. for an encore. Dig into the dirt with farmers across Arkansas as they work to save the soil and find out why this ecosystem is so important.
Get ready, wordsmiths! The 2026 Arkansas State Spelling Bee will air on Arkansas TV on Thursday, April 2, at 7 p.m.
If you’re a basketball fan, the Madness of March is about to begin while the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are likely underway. Before we move further, we’d like to mention our Emmy-nominated program “Celebrating Arkansas,” which highlights different celebrations throughout the state. If you remember last year, we gave stay-at-home dinner ideas from our friends from the Arkansas TV original production “Cooking on the Wild Side.” We’re bringing it back this year with a few new recipes from our “Cooking on the Wild Side” friends to try this year instead of going to an expensive dinner.

Hosted by actor and comedian Brett Ihler, the half-hour show takes viewers on a flavorful road trip across The Natural State, spotlighting beloved local restaurants and the people who bring them to life.
If you didn’t catch “The American Revolution,” a six-part, 12-hour documentary series from Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein and David Schmidt, then we have good news! Starting Friday, Jan. 9, at 8 p.m., all six parts of “The American Revolution” will air each Friday through Feb. 13.
